The following categories of toolkits are known to work with MTJ.

  • Oracle Java ME SDK 3.4
  • Sun Java Wireless Toolkit 2.5.2 for CLDC

I suppose the Java ME SDK used by Gemalto is 3.2. For building the MQTT Client I normally also need SDK 3.2. Problem: on the Oracle site only SDK 3.4 is available for download. Should this also work (fully compatible) or is SDK 3.2 absolutely necessary; if yes any idea where I can get SDK 3.2?

  1. The Oracle Java ME SDK 3.4 platform is a sophisticated and useful tool for programmers who want to develop embedded applications. The Oracle Java ME SDK 3.4 platform can be used successfully and easily with the NetBeans 7.3.1 Integrated Development Environment, as well as the Eclipse (Indigo 3.7, Juno 4.2, or Kepler 4.3) IDE.
  2. New in This Release. The following items are new in Oracle Java ME SDK 3.4: Support for Qualcomm Orion Internet of Everything (IoE) hardware platform, including the ability to attach it to Java ME SDK via a serial (USB) cable.

Other toolkits that meet the Unified Emulator Interface (UEI) Specification may also work with MTJ. Please provide feedback your experiences with toolkits other than listed with us to update this site.
